The education minister aims to hire 20,000 to 30,000 teachers during the summer holidays to ensure schools are adequately staffed for the upcoming academic year. These instructors will be engaged on a visiting basis, with payment for each lecture. The Punjab Teachers Union (PTU) has advocated for permanent recruitment to address the teacher shortage, emphasizing the need for more permanent appointments in the school department.

The provincial Minister of School Education also discussed plans to rationalize the recruitment process and address any remaining teacher shortages.
