The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa KP Enhances Digital Training With New Internship Program, aiming to boost the region’s tech skills and economic growth. The provincial government, through the KP IT Board, has rolled out several impactful initiatives.

Digital Internship Program

The new Digital Internship Program will offer 200 positions for fresh graduates. These internships are based in IT companies across Peshawar, Abbottabad, and other regions. Thus, the program provides hands-on experience, enhancing job readiness for the tech industry. It is designed to give young professionals real-world exposure and valuable skills.

Join IT Platform

In addition to internships, a new online platform called Join IT has been launched. This platform connects skilled professionals with IT companies in need of technical expertise. Join IT aims to streamline job placements by aligning local talent with industry demands, making it easier for companies to find the right candidates.

Google Scholarships for Digital Skills

Furthermore, in collaboration with Google and Tech Valley, the KP IT department is offering scholarships to 5,000 young individuals from the region. These scholarships will fund certifications in high-demand digital skills. By bridging the gap between traditional education and current job market needs, the initiative helps recipients gain valuable qualifications.

Durshal Business Incubation Center

In addition, Chief Minister Gandapur welcomed the 2024 startup cohort at Durshal, KPITB’s flagship business incubation center. This cohort, representing districts like Swabi, Peshawar, Mardan, and Swat, continues the tradition of nurturing startups. To date, Durshal has supported 173 startups, created over 1,600 jobs, and generated PKR 751 million in revenue.

Government Innovation Fellowship Program

Finally, a new batch of fellows has joined the Government Innovation Fellowship Program. These fellows will work with government departments to tackle challenges and develop digital solutions aimed at enhancing public sector efficiency.
