The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited OGDCL Announces New Gas Discovery In Sindh’s Khairpur district. The discovery took place at the Akhiro-1 exploratory well, located in the Sawan South Block. This significant achievement was announced by the Sawan South Joint Venture, a collaboration between OGDCL, United Energy Pakistan Limited, Government Holding Private Limited, and Sindh Energy Holding Limited.

Drilled to a depth of 12,442 feet, the Akhiro-1 well has shown impressive results. Upon testing, the well produced approximately 10 Million Standard Cubic Feet per Day (MMSCFD) of gas. Furthermore, the wellhead flowing pressure stood at 4,000 pounds per square inch (psi). These figures confirm the well’s potential for substantial gas production.
