Earlier, on August 1, the federal government had already made a notable reduction in petroleum prices. The government reduced petrol prices by Rs 6.17 per litre, lowering the cost to Rs 269.43. High-speed diesel saw an even larger cut, dropping by Rs 10.86, now priced at Rs 272.77 per litre. Light-speed diesel and kerosene oil also experienced reductions of Rs 5.72 and Rs 6.32 per litre, respectively.
