Pakistan Sports Board Grants Rs 23 Million To Support Hockey Federation

The Pakistan Sports Board PSB Grants Rs 23 Million To Support Hockey Federation. This amount will help the PHF cover the costs of the national team’s participation in the recently concluded Asian Champions Trophy in China. Before the tournament, PHF officials had expressed concerns about their financial situation, which forced them to rely on loans. Now, with this crucial financial assistance, the PSB has fulfilled its promise to reimburse these expenses.

In addition to this grant, the PSB and the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) have provided Rs 96.65 million to the PHF over the past six months. This significant support has helped the federation ensure the national team’s participation in various international tournaments. Financial challenges aside, Pakistan’s hockey team delivered an impressive performance at the Asian Champions Trophy.

During the semifinals, Pakistan narrowly lost to China in a tense penalty shootout. However, the team bounced back, showing remarkable determination. They clinched the bronze medal with a strong 5-2 win over Korea in the third-place match. Earlier in the tournament, Pakistan also faced their traditional rivals, India. Although they lost 1-2, the match proved their competitiveness on the field.

This financial backing comes as a much-needed relief for the PHF. The funds will allow the federation to focus on strengthening the team and preparing for future international competitions. Pakistan’s hockey team continues to shine, despite the challenges they face. With this renewed support from the PSB, the future looks promising for the sport. Stay tuned for more information.
