The Traffic Police of Punjab To Issue Driving Licences To All Students of college and university. The initiative aims to reduce the number of accidents caused by unlicensed drivers, especially among young students. A large number of students are currently driving motorcycles and cars without valid licenses, increasing the risk of road accidents.
The Additional IG Traffic initiated this step to properly license students and faculty members across the province. All Chief Traffic Officers (CTOs) and District Traffic Officers (DTOs) have received a circular to implement the plan. They will meet with the heads of educational institutions to streamline the process.
Universities and colleges will play an active role in this campaign. Each institute will appoint a focal person who will help the students to reach the examination centers. All necessary facilities will be provided to the students in these centers to complete the driving test. Additionally, the administration will also assist faculty members in obtaining their licenses.
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Punjab has also directed the educational institutions to fully cooperate with this campaign. This support will help ensure that students can drive safely and legally on the roads. This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to improve road safety and the safety of lives across the province.
By issuing licenses to students, Punjab is taking a proactive step towards a safer future, aiming to significantly reduce traffic violations and accidents. Stay tuned for more information.
