The Sindh To Launch Online Vehicle Registration And Tax Services system starting January 1, 2024. This new initiative, introduced by the Excise and Taxation Department, aims to simplify the vehicle registration and transfer process, allowing citizens to complete these procedures from home.

With this digital transformation, people can now pay motor vehicle taxes and handle registration tasks through an online portal. This eliminates the need for in-person visits, making the entire process more convenient and time-efficient for the public. The move, announced by Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, will also put an end to cash transactions, ensuring greater transparency in tax payments.

Cracking Down on Unauthorized Number Plates

The provincial government is also targeting the misuse of official number plates on private vehicles. During the meeting, officials discussed measures to address this issue, emphasizing the need for stricter enforcement. Boosting Tax Collection and Transparency

The Excise and Taxation Department has already collected 34 percent of its annual tax revenue within just three months. Minister Memon instructed the department to increase its tax targets and accelerate the collection process further. Mandatory Vehicle Fitness Certificates

In another significant move, the government is introducing mandatory vehicle fitness certificates for all public service vehicles. This step is expected to reduce environmental pollution and improve road safety, ensuring that only roadworthy vehicles are on the streets.
